SUFFEREING …… The experience …..to endure the pain….patient endurance….. To bear the loss or damage and pain of physical and mental with perfect equanimity, to submit oneself to the arduous process of endurance. Suffering is as important as Happiness. The pain must be intense; the suffering very complete, there should be no room for anything else, and in the absoluteness of pain and suffering is the real PEACE. Suffering is a state of consciousness of experiences a very automatic one, which is the natural happening in the cycling of body’s evolution related metabolism. SUFFERING IS BLISS…yes, but for only those, who have perfect equilibrium. But a state of hopelessness for those who have no equilibrium. Suffering comes to the body and mind to help create the feelings of equanimity. In suffering, the mind goes deeper, crossing the physical body barrier, the inner-most chamber, the outer-most atmosphere and becomes oblivious of grief and pain….. At this age of pollution, through our environmentally degrading activities we are forced to endure, physical pain and suffering, through various small and terminal ailments and diseases. Suffering caused of unnecessary need and greed couldn’t enhance the real effects of BLISS…..ANANDA…… The purity of the body’s metabolism is being spoiled continuously, without any respite, through our devastating activities. It is not an easy atmosphere at all around. It is an uneasy atmosphere around humanity, caused by humanity’s refusal to try to understand the elementary maintenance of the Universe. How we should go about doing things to respect the elementary purity of the elements of the Earth. It can not be taught by anybody, it should be a spontaneous happening in us, the great humanity, in our loving association, with this tiny world of WEEDS. Page - 153 Parmelia perlata (Huds.) Ach. Of the family Parmeliaceae This is a very uncommon plant belonging to a group called ‘Lichens’. Not known to many it grows as a weed which is actually a combination of a fungus and an alga, insignificantly on tree trunks, rock surface and hills, as a proof of regional climatic healthiness, throughout India. Known as:
The astringent, bitter, acrid, cooling and fragrant body of this lichen (thallus) is flat, growing unevenly like some island map or in rosettes over the foundation expressing the impression of a flower growing on a hard surface – hence the identity ‘stone flower’. It is mainly composed of fungal mycelia, which form a network enclosing algal cells or gonidia. Reproduced by spores or sorodia through insects, wind and water on to the surfaces of rocks, trees and other hard surfaces where they develop into a new lichen thalli. The whole body of this stone flower is useful in vitiated conditions of kapha and pitta related complications, wounds, boils sores, strangury, deep headache, skin diseases and itching, various stomach diseases including indigestion, different types of loose motions, cardiac weakness, cold related complications, seminal weakness in cases of menstruation failure . Let humanity observe, what an insignificant weed has in its store to serve if only given a chance with right perception. The dried powered form of this plant is believed to be in use by the tribal population in place of Isaphgul seeds. Page - 154
